Careers at VISITING WRLD
Join a team that changes lives for a living.
We look for people who earn trust and play to win as a team.
Why we hire
We hire disciplined teammates who take care of people and win together.
VISITING WRLD runs international fitness retreats for LGBTQ+ men in Costa Rica, Mexico, Bali and Thailand. Guests come for the training and leave with friends and a reset they didn't know they needed. Pulling that off takes a small team that holds a high bar and measures results, not effort.

Who thrives here
Six things our best people share.

01
You build for the long run.
We aren't chasing one good season. We want retreats that sell because the last one delivered, and systems that still hold up when we're twice the size.

02
You keep the bar high.
Every detail on a retreat is somebody's first impression. You own your work and you leave the standard higher than you found it.

03
You put people before the post.
Content matters. People matter more. The retreater who's nervous on day one, the teammate who needs a hand: you show up for them first.

04
You do the work when nobody's watching.
Early call times, the follow-up nobody asked for, the checklist done twice. Discipline is how a small team runs a week like this.

05
You ask for feedback, then use it.
We review sales calls, talk through what went wrong and tell each other the truth. If you want to get better fast, you'll like it here. If you need to be right, you won't.

06
You win as a team.
You can be competitive and still pass the credit. When a retreat goes well, everyone who touched it shares the win. When it doesn't, we fix it together.
Day to day
How we work together.

Remote most of the year. In the room on retreat.
Most of the work happens remotely, wherever you focus best. Then we fly in, meet the guests and run the week together in person.

Systems over heroics.
Playbooks, apps and checklists let a small team run a big week without anyone burning out. We hold ourselves to the same standard we hold for guests.

Coaching is the culture.
We coach guests all week and coach each other all year. Expect honest feedback and clear ownership from day one.
What we value
Three values we hire for.
These shape who we hire and how we make decisions.
Show up all the way
Be at your best when people are counting on you. You like hard work that matters.
Say the true thing, kindly
Honest feedback, delivered with care. We'd rather hear it now than find out later.
Do right when it costs you
Integrity with guests, teammates and money. No shortcuts.
How we hire
A process that respects your time.
Clear steps and honest answers. Every conversation covers three things.
Where you've been
How you've grown and what you want next.
How you do the work
A skills test for your role, done like the real thing.
How you treat people
How you show up for guests and teammates.

From the team
Why we love working here.
“Before this I was a project manager at Centene, making TikTok and Instagram content on the side. Now I work how I want, from wherever I want. We run on autonomy here. If we bring you on, it's because we believe in your skills and see your potential, and we expect you to make mistakes, because that's where you learn the most.”
Jasper JorolanCOO & Co-Founder“I was driving all over Michigan shooting weddings and concerts when Joe asked if I thought this idea could work. I helped plan our first retreat in January 2024. Watching how sad everyone was to say goodbye, then seeing them still friends two years later, is when I knew this was bigger than a business. Now I spend months overseas doing work I helped build, as myself, with people who celebrate that.”
Joey WootenCPO“Most of my weekends used to be going out with friends who just wanted to party. Now I travel the world with a great group of gay friends, and Joe has coached me on lifting, nutrition and how to travel well. People come to our retreats for the fitness and the travel. They go home with real friends and a community they can count on, and seeing that on every trip makes it easy to believe in what we do.”
Ryan WalkerCMO“I left finance because I wanted my work to do something for our community. Seeing all the queerness celebrated on our Costa Rica retreat is when I knew this job was different. Joe trained me in sales, and the job gives me real freedom, with money and with travel. That freedom comes with responsibility. Stay on top of your work and you'll be fine.”
Jorelle WeaverRetreat Specialist“I was back in Alabama doing some social media management when Jasper told me I could be really good at this job. It's one of the first jobs where I've felt heard and valued, and I don't take that lightly. Jasper taught me how everything runs, Joe sharpened my technique and Jorelle helped with sales. My income changed so much that I'm almost debt free, which is insane.”
Cole GraceRetreat Specialist“I was doing contract work in LA, in social media and event production, and looking for a team whose values matched mine. The first meeting with this team felt right. Here your ideas get heard no matter your title, and the team backs you up. Cole helped me every time I got stuck on our systems, and this job has brought back my confidence in sales and in leading.”
Milana QuirozRetreat Specialist“I was a laboratory scientist, and I'd been harassed and unhappy in a lot of my past workplaces. This is the first one where I've felt safe, around people who understand me. The team keeps me on my toes and holds me accountable. It's worth it, because this work was made to change your life for the better.”
Cheyne FernandezRetreat Specialist“I came on our very first retreat as a guest, while I was still figuring myself out. Now I work here, and every first night, seeing all the retreaters together, I remember why this is special. This job changed how I see myself and how I carry myself. Joe helped the most, mostly through the workouts we do together. There's no better feeling than being around people who put in the same effort you do.”
Matthew McFarlandRetreat Specialist“The focus on community is what brought me here. I've gotten so much better at marketing since I started, and Ryan has helped me the most. It's never too late to start something new, and it helps to be around people going through the same journey.”
“I left a corporate job running social media for luxury hotels because I wanted something more fulfilling than a 9 to 5. The first time I gave feedback here, it was put in place right away. I've grown well past social media, and I feel valued enough to speak my mind. Joe and Jasper work so hard, and Joe hyping everyone up makes me excited to grow with them.”
